BSE Filings › Price Reaction

What actually happens after a filing

Companies file constantly, and almost nobody checks what followed. We measured it: 11,244 BSE filings matched against the exchange's own end-of-day prices. The results are not what most people assume.

Measured from the close of the filing day — the first reaction to the news is already excluded.

The finding

Across 6,864 results filings, the median share was -1.02% over the next 7 days, and only 41.6% ended higher. Results are the most-watched filing a company makes, and in this dataset they are followed by drift downwards — while order wins and mergers drift up. This is a record of what happened, not a prediction of what will.
