BSE Filings › Price Reaction

What actually happens after a filing

Companies file constantly, and almost nobody checks what followed. We measured it: 10,555 BSE filings matched against the exchange's own end-of-day prices. The results are not what most people assume.

Measured from the close of the filing day — the first reaction to the news is already excluded.

The finding

Across 6,314 results filings, the median share was -1.49% over the next 15 days, and only 41.2% ended higher. Results are the most-watched filing a company makes, and in this dataset they are followed by drift downwards — while order wins and mergers drift up. This is a record of what happened, not a prediction of what will.
