Which companies are winning the most work

Order wins disclosed to the exchanges, totalled per company and set against how big the company is. An order book several times a company's own market value means work already contracted — the clearest forward signal a contracting business gives, and one that normally stays buried in PDFs.

Orders won

New orders the company itself told the exchanges about, added up. This is inflow — not the closing order book the company may quote elsewhere.

Versus market value

The same orders divided by what the market says the whole company is worth. A small company winning orders worth more than itself is the case worth a second look. Shown for every company here.

Versus yearly sales

Orders divided by a full year's revenue — how many years of work is already signed. We only show it where we have verified the revenue figure from the company's own results filing, which today is 3 of 7.

How to read this. "Orders won" is the total value of order wins the company disclosed to the exchanges in the period — it is order inflow, not a stated closing order book, and the two are different. "Versus market value" divides that by the company's market capitalisation at the latest close, and is available for every company listed here. "Versus yearly sales" divides it by the company's own reported revenue from operations for its last full financial year, taken from its results filing; that figure is shown only where it passed verification, so most rows read not verified yet rather than carrying a number we are unsure of — and where a company's revenue is too small for the comparison to mean anything, the cell says so rather than printing a large multiple off a near-zero base. Orders in foreign currency, withdrawn orders, and companies whose scrip identity does not match the exchange's own record are excluded entirely.
