Which companies are winning the most work

Order wins disclosed to the exchanges, totalled per company and set against the company's own annual sales. An order book several times revenue means work already contracted — the clearest forward signal a contracting business gives, and one that normally stays buried in PDFs.

How to read this. "Orders won" is the total value of order wins the company disclosed to BSE in the period — it is order inflow, not a stated closing order book, and the two are different. "Annual sales" is the company's own reported revenue from operations for its last full financial year, taken from its results filing. A ratio appears only where that revenue figure passed verification; where it did not, the cell reads not verified rather than showing a number we are unsure of — and where a company's revenue is too small for the comparison to mean anything, it says so rather than printing a large multiple off a near-zero base. "Orders ÷ m.cap" sets the same order inflow against the company's market value, which is available for far more companies than a verified sales figure. Orders in foreign currency, withdrawn orders, and companies whose scrip identity does not match the exchange's own record are excluded entirely.
